Olin Declares Force Majeure at Several Chlor-Alkali Plants

Olin has declared force majeure on chlor-alkali products shipped from the company’s Henderson, NV facility until further notice. Force majeure was declared due to an “unexpected equipment failure” during an attempted start-up of the plant after a scheduled one-week outage, the company says. Accidental damage to diaphragm cells being built during the outage prompted the declaration, a source familiar with Olin’s operations at the Henderson facility tells CW.
