Force majeure was declared due to an “unexpected equipment failure” during an attempted start-up of the plant after a scheduled one-week outage, the company says. Accidental damage to diaphragm cells being built during the outage prompted the declaration, a source familiar with Olin’s operations at the Henderson facility tells CW.
