Mexichem Buys Caustic Soda Firm

Mexican polyvinyl chloride (PVC) maker Mexichem (Pajaritos, Mexico) says it has purchased Colombian caustic soda producer Prodesal (Cali), for an undisclosed amount. Prodesal generated 2007 sales of $45 million and had Ebidta of $12 million, Mexichem says.
