Ineos ChlorVinyls Declares Force Majeure

Ineos ChlorVinyls says it has declared force majeure on vinylchloride monomer (VCM) from its Rafnes, Norway facility due to a recent major power failure that "significantly interrupted" ethylene and VCM supply at the site. The power outage also affects polyvinyl chloride (PVC) produced at Aycliffe, U.K., Wilhelmshaven, Germany, Porsgrunn, Norway, and Stenungsund, Sweden, Ineos ChlorVinyls says.
