Ercros to Close Plants and Cut Jobs In Major Restructuring

Ercros (Barcelona) has announced a major restructuring of its chlorine and derivatives business, involving permanent plant closures and the loss of 271 jobs. The plan is designed to adjust the company’s production to a steep fall in demand resulting from the global economic crisis, and it aims to cut costs by an annualized €48 million ($64 million).
