Prey as chief executive officer of their recently announced a 50-50 chlor-alkali joint venture at Freeport, TX. The companies announced in July that they will construct and operate a chlor-alkali facility with the capacity to produce about 880,000 m.t./year of caustic soda and about 800,000 m.t./year of chlorine. Construction is expected to begin in the fourth quarter and the facility is expected to come online in mid- 2013, Dow says.
