Dow and Mitsui Confirm Chlor-Alkali JV Plans

Dow Chemical and Mitsui say they will go ahead with a previously announced chlor-alkali joint venture to construct, own, and operate a facility at Dow’s Freeport, TX integrated chlor-alkali complex. The facility is expected to begin operations in mid-2013, and will have the capacity to produce about 800,000 tons/year. The jv will be named Dow-Mitsui Chlor-Alkali.   The companies also announced their appointments to the joint venture management team.
