Dow Declares Force Majeure on Caustic Soda at German Site

Dow Central Germany has declared force majeure on caustic soda produced at its Schkopau, Germany site due to technical issues. “After coming back from a planned outage, we experienced unplanned technical issues which impact our ability to produce caustic soda at this location,” the company says. “Unforeseen repairs are required at the plant during October which will further impact our operating rates throughout the month.”  Caustic soda availability from Schkopau will be impacted through the fourth-quarter and customers will be placed...
