AkzoNobel Selects Uhde Technology for Chlor-Alkali Conversion Project

AkzoNobel has selected ThyssenKrupp Uhde to design and supply the contractor’s energy-saving membrane cell technology for a previously announced conversion of AkzoNobel’s existing mercury based electrolysis plant at the Frankfurt-Höchst industrial park. This project involves replacing the existing amalgam cells with ThyssenKrupp Uhde single-element membrane electrolysers.
