Pemex identifies target areas for petchems in 2014-18 business plan

Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex; Mexico City) aims to improve operating margins in its petrochemical operations through the company's recently updated business plan for the period 2014-18. Ammonia derivatives, principally fertilizers; ethylene oxide (EO); styrene; and para-xylene are identified as long-term strategic segments for the period covered by the business plan. Pemex Petroquímica (Coatzacoalcos, Mexico) is the petrochemical subsidiary of Pemex. Pemex is targeting completion of a new EO production line at the Morelos complex in the state of Veracruz...
