LanzaTech Buys Failed Ethanol Plant

Auckland-based LanzaTech has acquired a Soperton, GA cellulosic ethanol plant formerly operated by Range Fuels, according to Bloomberg (New York) reports. LanzaTech bought the gasification plant at a foreclosure auction for $5.1 million and plans to convert the facility to biochemicals production. The company's technology uses waste CO gas to produce fuels and chemicals, including C2-C5 feedstocks.
