Butamax Announces First Production Partner

Butamax Advanced Biofuels (Wilmington, DE), an isobutanol jv between DuPont and BP, says Highwater Ethanol (Lamberton, MN) will be the first adopter of its ethanol plant retrofit technology. The two firms signed a letter of intent to convert Highwater’s 50 million gals/year ethanol production facility at Lamberton to isobutanol production. Other terms were not disclosed.
