BP-DuPont JV inaugurates UK's largest bioethanol unit

The Vivergo bioethanol plant at Hull was officially opened today by Vince Cable, UK secretary of state for business, innovation, and skills, BP has announced. The new plant, a joint venture among AB Sugar (Peterborough, UK), BP, and DuPont, will produce 420 million liters/year of bioethanol at full capacity. The jv is a brownfield redevelopment project built on a 25-acre site within the Saltend Chemicals Park, near Hull.
