Amyris narrows loss

Biobased farnesene firm Amyris (Emeryville, CO) reports a second-quarter net loss of $35.5 million, compared to a net loss of $38.9 million in the year-ago quarter. Sales slipped 14.2%, to $9.3 million. Renewable product sales revenue was $4.4 million, a 5.4% increase over the second quarter of 2013.    Recognized grants and collaborations revenues were $4.9 million on a GAAP basis.
