Flint Hills and Benefuel to develop biodiesel refineries jointly in the US

Benefuel (Irving, TX) has completed agreements with Flint Hills Resources (FHR; Wichita, KS) to develop biodiesel refineries in the United States using Benefuel’s patented Ensel refining technology, Benefuel has announced. The joint venture, Duonix (Wichita), is developing its first project, a retrofit of a 50-million gal/year biodiesel facility at Beatrice, NE. The site was acquired by FHR out of bankruptcy and has since been transferred to Duonix. The Beatrice plant will continue to be operated by FHR.
