GraalBio and Chemtex Plan Cellulosic Ethanol Plant in Brazil

Brazilian biofuels and biochemicals company GraalBio Investimentos S.A. and Chemtex Italia (Chemtex; Tortona, Italy) say they will develop and construct an industrial-scale cellulosic ethanol plant in Brazil, which is expected to begin operations by 2013. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.   Chemtex and GraalBio are also in discussions regarding a broader cooperation to develop and produce biofuels and biochemicals in Brazil.
