Markets :: Alternative Fuels :: Bioethanol ETH and Brenco Merge11:33 PM MST | February 18, 2010 | Deepti Ramesh Sugar and ethanol company ETH Bioenergia (São Paulo) and renewable energy company Brenco (São Paulo) say that ETH has taken over Brenco and that they have completed an asset merger process. The two companies had signed an agreement last October to evaluate the merging of their assets and operations. The new company, which retains the ETH Bioenergia name will be a leader in ethanol production and power generation from biomass, and will produce 3 billion liters of ethanol in 2012, the companies say.
