EPA approves Aemetis plant to produce D5 advanced biofuels using sorghum, biogas

EPA has granted Aemetis (Cupertino, CA), an advanced fuels and renewable chemicals company, approval to produce bioethanol using grain sorghum and biogas with the plant’s existing combined heat and power system, to generate higher-value D5 advanced biofuels Renewable Identification Numbers (RIN), Aemetis announced. RINs are numerical codes created with every gallon of biofuel produced or imported in the US.
