Chicago Mercantile Exchange to launch 9 new biofuel futures contracts

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME; Chicago) has launched nine new futures contracts for Renewable Identification Numbers (RIN), the group has announced. The new RINs contracts will be available for trading starting 13 May and will allow customers to hedge risk in three types of renewable fuels: category D4 biodiesel; category D5 advanced biofuel; and category D6 bioethanol, which will be settled based on Argus's RIN prices, CME says.
