Ukraine firm begins construction of bioethanol plant

Zarya Bio (Kiev), a subsidiary of RPE Zarya (Rubezhnoye, Ukraine), a chemical producer, has started construction of a 30,000-m.t./year bioethanol plant at its site at Rubezhnoye, the company announced. The main product of the plant will be dehydrated ethanol with a concentration of ethanol up to 99.9%, the company says. The investment is valued at 470 million Ukrainian hryvnia ($55.6 million), according to local press reports. Construction is scheduled to conclude in 2015.
