Novasep and Danisco Develop Process for Betaine from Bioethanol

Fine chemicals firm Novasep (Pompey, France), and Daniso (Copenhagen), say they have jointly developed a “cost-effective, environmentally friendly process” to produce betaine, an animal feed ingredient in short supply, from vinasses. Vinasses are a byproduct of sugar-beet-derived bioethanol.
