Markets :: Alternative Fuels :: Biodiesel Flint Hills Buys Biodiesel Plant for $5 Million3:15 PM MST | November 30, 2011 | Vincent Valk Flint Hills Resources (Wichita, Kan.), a Koch Industries subsidiary, has purchased a biodiesel plant in Beatrice, Nebraska, via bankruptcy sale in Nebraska Bankruptcy Court. The plant, which has a capacity of 50 million gallons/year, was built in 2008 but never put in production. Flint Hills paid $5 million in a bankruptcy auction for the plant, which was originally constructed by Beatrice Biodiesel LLC (Beatrice, Neb.) for $52 million.
