Novozymes Opens Enzyme Plant in the U.S.

Novozymes says it has begun operations at its Blair, NE enzyme plant. The $200 million facility produces enzymes created for existing and advanced biofuel markets The U.S. is becoming the largest market for biofuels—specifically the Midwest—with domestically made fuels reducing gas prices for consumers, according to Peder Nielsen, executive v.p. of Novozymes.
