In this webcast we will explore how chemical companies can stay on top of the vast accumulations of data needed for compliance with the EU's Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals (REACH). We will discuss how IBM is solving REACH data management issues, explore some challenges, and discuss best practices that have been developed by IBM and other companies.
Key points will include:
- IBM experience with managing REACH: As a downstream user IBM has to comply with REACH legislation. What is IBM's approach to achieving REACH compliance? What kind of issues is IBM's REACH management team dealing with on a daily basis? An overview of the IBM REACH program will be provided.
- Cefic - SEIF portal for REACH - an overview of the solution and its importance for REACH management: Cefic (European Chemical Industry Council) and IBM have developed a state-of-the-art solution called "SIEFreach." SIEFreach facilitates and eases information exchange between companies with the goal of reducing the number of tests and submitting registration dossiers required by the REACH regulation.
- REACH management challenges and success factors, including some case studies: We will conclude with a view on the key success factors and challenges that companies, including IBM, are facing implementing and managing REACH and REACH-related data.

Irina Bychkova, Global Market & Solutions Development Leader, Chemicals & Petroleum, IBM Global Business Services
Irina Bychkova has been a management consultant for over 10 years. She joined Coopers & Lybrand, later PriceWaterhouseCoopers, in 1997 and joined IBM in 2002 through the acquisition of PWC Consulting.
She specializes in Information Technology and much of her focus is on cross-border ERP (SAP) enabled business transformation projects. She became Global Market & Solution Development Leader for the Chemical and Petroleum Industries in 2007. In this role she is responsible for developing the strategy for consulting and systems integration services, application management and business transformation services for these industries. She also identifies and directs the development of new solutions and services that address specific issues of IBM's chemical and petroleum clients. Irina has a BSC with honors in Computer Science & Economics.
Don Hossink, Associate Partner, IBM Global Business Services
Don Hossnik specializes in Product Lifecycle Management solutions in the Industrial Sector Supply Chain Management practice of IBM’s Global Business Services. He has led teams in developing and implementing client based REACH solutions. Don has held numerous managerial positions at IBM and brings over 30 years of sales and consulting experience across the product lifecycle management engineering and manufacturing disciplines.
Don has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Mexico and completed the Harvard Business School’s executive training program for IBM’s Certified Client Executives.
