Styron has appointed Richard Diemer, Jr. as its new executive v.p. and CFO. Diemer was formerly senior v.p. and CFO of Albemarle. He succeeds Celso Goncalves, who will remain with Styron through year-end. Styron has also named John Sereda v.p. and treasurer and George Osborne v.p. and controller. Sereda joins the company from Nova Chemicals, where he was v.p./finance and treasurer, while Osborne most recently worked for Dow Chemical as Dow Chemical’s director/M&A and significant transactions within its corporate controller’s office. Styron, formerly a business unit of Dow, was acquired by Bain Capital in June. Its president and CEO, Chris Pappas, was formerly president and COO of Nova, and before that held several leadership positions within Dow.
