Yara to Acquire BASF Fertilizer Assets?

Yara International is at an advanced stage of negotiations to acquire most of BASF's nitrogen fertilizer assets, according to several press reports this week. BASF put most of its nitrogen fertilizer business up for sale last March. Yara and BASF each declined to comment on the reports, but Yara confirmed earlier that it had submitted a bid for the BASF assets. An initial agreement between Yara and BASF could be announced by the end of this month, the reports say.
