World News and Views :: Top of the News Yara Signs Agreement for Construction of Ammonium Nitrate Plant in Australia1:41 AM MDT | March 23, 2011 | Deepti Ramesh Yara International says it has signed a letter of intent (LoI) with engineering and construction company Técnicas Reunidas (Madrid) for the construction of a previously announced 330,000-m.t./year technical ammonium nitrate (TAN) plant at the Burrup Peninsula in Western Australia. The total cost of the project is estimated at about $700 million. Yara and Burrup Holdings (Perth, Australia) signed an agreement in 2008 to build the TAN plant under a planned 50-50 joint venture, Burrup Nitrates.
