Yara Reports Strong First Quarter; Increases Ownership in Ethiopian Potash Project

Yara International (Oslo) says that in the first quarter it has achieved “healthy margins” and that sales volumes have returned to “normal levels.” Net income, after non-controlling interests, at NK3.02 billion ($526.8 million) was 5% higher than in the first quarter of 2011. Sales were 8% higher at NK21.3 billion.
