World News and Views :: Top of the News Yara Reports Fall in First-Quarter Profits and Sales; Air Liquide's Sales Fall2:26 AM MDT | April 28, 2009 | Deepti Ramesh Yara International has recorded a 68% fall in first-quarter net profits, to NK887 million ($132 million) compared with the year-ago period. And sales decreased by 18% to NK17.1 billion. Air Liquide has reported a 3% fall in sales for the first quarter, to €2.9 billion ($3.8 billion), compared to the first quarter of 2008. And the first-quarter sales in the gas and services segment of Air Liquide decreased by nearly 4% to €2.5 billion.
