Workers end strike at Lanxess's chrome mine in South Africa

Striking workers at a chrome ore mine in Rustenburg, South Africa, owned by Lanxess, have agreed to end a strike and to return to work on Monday, following a deal with the company, Lanxess said on Friday. "All parties agreed on a one-off performance payment," Lanxess said.   The deal followed an initial agreement with the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) and Congress of SA Trade Unions (Cosatu) representatives, achieved after negotiations held on Thursday, Lanxess said.
