Wal-Mart to Stop Selling Bottles Made With BPA; Health Canada Issues Safety Assessment

Wal-Mart says it will stop selling baby bottles made with bisphenol a (BPA) in its Canadian and U.S. stores, beginning next year. The decision follows the release of a National Toxicology Program assessment that said the possibility that BP may alter human reproductive systems “cannot be dismissed.” The retailer’s move also follows reports that Canadian health officials are poised to designate BPA as a “dangerous” chemical.
