Wacker's second-quarter results improve sequentially, decline YOY

Wacker Chemie reported today that it was able to improve its results in the second quarter compared with the first quarter. Ebitda was €188 million ($250 million) compared with €165 million in the preceding quarter, an increase of 14% but 22% down on the corresponding quarter in 2012 because of price declines. Net income for the second quarter of 2013 was €15 million, down 75% year-on-year. Group sales for second-quarter 2013 were €1.15 billion, an increase of 7% over the preceding quarter but 6% below the year-ago quarter. Earnings per share...
