Wacker Exits Solar Silicon Wafer Business

Wacker Chemie says that it has reached an agreement with Schott Solar (Alzenau, Germany), its joint venture parter in the equally owned joint venture Wacker Schott Solar (WSS; Jena, Germany), to transfer its share to its partner. With this move Wacker is exiting the solar wafer business and will concentrate its solar activities on the production of hyperpure polysilicon.
