Wacker Chemie Reports Higher Sales and Earnings; Forecasts Record Results for 2010

Wacker Chemie (Munich) today reported an 81% rise in second quarter Ebitda to €309 million ($403.8 million) compared with the year-earlier period, on 30% higher sales of €1.2 billion. It expects full-year group sales to reach about €4.5 billion with Ebitda exceeding 2008's record level of €1.06 billion. Group Ebitda margin in the second quarter exceeded the 25% threshold, climbing to 25.7%, compared to the 18.4% achieved in the second quarter of 2009.
