World News and Views :: Top of the News Wacker Adds Polysilicon Capacity at Two Sites in Germany2:44 AM MDT | March 14, 2011 | Natasha Alperowicz Wacker Chemie is investing €130 million ($179 million) in a project to add a combined 10,000 m.t./year polysilicon capacity at two sites in Germany. At Burghausen the company will raise capacity from 32,000 m.t./year to 37,000 m.t./year through a debottlenecking project. At Nünchritz, meanwhile, Wacker's 10,000 m.t./year polysilicon production unit currently under construction and due for completion by year end will be expanded to 15,000 m.t.//year.
