WTO Rules Against Chinese Restrictions on Raw Material Exports

The World Trade Organization (WTO; Geneva) has ruled that restrictions imposed by China on the export of certain key raw materials, including some used extensively by the chemical industry, are unfair and violate international trade regulations. A WTO panel today backed a case brought jointly by the European Union (EU), U.S., and Mexico and says that the Chinese export restrictions should be removed.
