World News and Views :: Top of the News Vinythai Starts up Epichlorohydrin Plant in Thailand6:17 AM MST | February 28, 2012 | Deepti Ramesh Solvay says that its Vinythai (Bangkok) affiliate has today commissioned its previously announced bio-sourced 100,000-m.t./year epichlorohydrin (ECH) plant at Map Ta Phut, Thailand, which is based on Solvay’s Epicerol technology. The plant involved an investment of €120 million ($161 million). Vinythai is a vinyl and chlor-alkali producer and is listed on the stock exchange of Thailand. Solvay holds 58.77% stake and PTT Global Chemical (Bangkok) holds a 24.98% stake in Vinythai. ECH is an essential feedstock for the production of epoxy resins...
