Versalis and Honam Petrochemical form elastomers production jv in Korea

Versalis, the chemicals subsidiary of ENI (Rome), announced today that it has signed an agreement with Honam Petrochemical (Seoul) to build an elastomers production plant at Honam’s facilities at Yeosu, Korea. The new plant will use Versalis’ proprietary technology and will have capacity of about 200,000 m.t./year. Output will be sold primarily on the Asian markets. Startup is planned by the end of 2015.
