VCI Anticipates Slowdown in Chemicals Output in Germany

German chemical industry association VCI (Frankfurt) forecasts a slowdown in chemicals output growth in Germany in 2011. VCI's prediction is in line with Cefic's recent forecast that growth in production of chemicals will slow throughout Europe next year. VCI expects output of chemicals to increase 2.5% in Germany during 2011 compared with 2010 and predicts that sales will increase 4%.
