Uralkali posts falls in 2013 earnings, sales; says performance improved after exit from potash cartel

Leading potash producer Uralkali (Berezniki, Russia) says its 2013 net profit dropped 58%, to $666 million on revenue down 20%, to $2.7 billion. Uralkali's Ebitda declined 31% in 2013, to $1.6 billion. Quarterly figures were not disclosed. Uralkali's potash production volumes increased 10% in 2013, to 10 million m.t. and sales volumes rose 5%, to 9.9 million m.t. The company says that its average potash export price decreased 28% in 2013, to $268/m.t. The results partly reflect Uralkali's exit in July 2013 from the Belarusian Potash Co. (BPC; Minsk) export...
