Up to 50% of Companies Unprepared for Reach

Up to 50% of chemical companies “are not fully prepared” for the European Union’s (EU) Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals (Reach) program, according to a survey by engineering and risk management firm BMT (London), which provides environmental services to the sector. Companies are required to pre-register their substances between June 1 and November 30, 2008.
