World News and Views :: Top of the News U.S. Supreme Court to Consider Monsanto’s Alfalfa Appeal9:15 AM MST | January 19, 2010 | Kara Sissell The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to rule on Monsanto’s lawsuit challenging the U.S. government’s injunction against planting of genetically modified alfalfa. The lawsuit challenged a legal decision that required that the U.S. Agriculture Department (USDA) rescind approval of the firm’s genetically modified (GM) alfalfa until regulators complete a more thorough environmental impact analysis. That analysis is due out next month and the Supreme Court’s ruling is expected in June, meaning the ruling would have little practical impact on...
