World News and Views :: Top of the News Toyo Engineering Awarded Contract for Ethylene Plant in Egypt12:12 AM MDT | March 28, 2012 | Deepti Ramesh Toyo Engineering (Narashino, Japan) says it has been jointly awarded with the Engineering for the Petroleum & Process Industries (Enppi; Cairo), a contract to build a 460,000-m.t./year ethylene plant and a 20,000 m.t./year butadiene extraction plant at Alexandria, Egypt. The contract, which is valued at about $600 million, was awarded by the Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives Co. (Ethydco), a newly established company. According to the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum (Cairo), the Egyptian Petrochemical Holding Co. (Echem; Cairo) has 40% stake in the project...
