Toyo Engineering Awarded Contract for Ethylene Plant in Egypt

Toyo Engineering (Narashino, Japan) says it has been jointly awarded with the Engineering for the Petroleum & Process Industries (Enppi; Cairo), a contract to build a 460,000-m.t./year ethylene plant and a 20,000 m.t./year butadiene extraction plant at Alexandria, Egypt. The contract, which is valued at about $600 million, was awarded by the Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives Co. (Ethydco), a newly established company.
