Tosoh hikes PVC capacity in Japan

Tosoh says its Taiyo Vinyl subsidiary is expanding polyvinyl chloride (PVC) capacity at the Chiba, Japan, manufacturing complex. The company will add 10,000 m.t./year capacity by October 2014.   Taiyo Vinyl, with a current capacity of 558,000 m.t./year, is Tosoh’s largest PVC production unit. Tosoh’s combined PVC capacity is currently 1.10 million m.t./year. Tokuyama Sekisui has capacity for 110,000 m.t./year of PVC resin, and Tosoh operates a 28,000 m.t./year PVC paste plant.
