Toray Industries starts constructing PPS plant in South Korea

Toray Industries says it has begun constructing a previously announced, 300-billion South Korean won ($296 million) polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) plant at the Saemangeum industrial complex at Gunsan, South Korea. The facility will be designed to produce 8,600 m.t/year of PPS and is scheduled for completion in April 2016. Toray Advanced Materials Korea, a subsidiary of Toray Industries, is setting up the plant. The company announced last October that it will build the facility in South Korea and that the new plant will raise its global output for PPS to 27,600...
