World News and Views :: Top of the News Tokuyama swings to loss8:30 AM MST | February 8, 2013 | Deepti Ramesh Tokuyama (Tokyo) reported a net loss of ¥10.8 billion ($116 million) for the fiscal first 9 months, ended 31 December 2012, compared with a net profit of ¥3.9 billion in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. Sales decreased by about 10.4%, to ¥189.0 billion, because of decreased sales volumes and a fall in the selling price of polysilicon, which is part of the company's specialty products segment, and lower sales volumes in the chemicals segment, Tokuyama says.
