Taiwanese Firms Will Seek New Site for China Complex as Quanzhou Talks are Suspended

Seven Taiwanese petrochemical producers, which have joined forces to build a more than $5-billion petrochemical project at Quanzhou, Fujian Province, China have suspended talks on the project after Beijing authorities failed to respond to their planning application and plan to seek an alternative site south of Quanzhou, CW has learned. Unofficial sources close to decision making in China have said that there were two main reasons for Beijing's decision to ignore the application.
