Sulfuric Acid Leak at Orica’s Port Kembla Site

Orica (Melbourne) says that on December 16, about 3000 liters-4000 liters of sulfuric acid leaked from the company’s production facility at Port Kembla in the state of New South Wales (NSW), Australia. Orica reported the incident to the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA). The sulfuric acid leaked from a pipeline, and it was captured within a concrete culvert and then contained within a purpose built bund, EPA says.
