Solvay Bid Prompted Danisco Auction

Danish newspapers are reporting that Solvay made the initial unsolicited bid that resulted in an auction that led to DuPont’s agreement to acquire Danisco for $6.3 billion. Meanwhile, DSM said today that it holds a 4.95% stake in Danisco, acquired in 2007 and early 2008, but that it is not considering a competing bid...
