Soaring Potash Prices Prompt K+S to Raise Earnings Guidance

K+S (Kassel, Germany), Europe's biggest producer of potash, says its third-quarter 2010 operating profits increased 11 fold compared with the same period of last year, to €108.5 million on sales up 52%, to €1.1 billion. K+S raised its full-year 2010 operating-profit forecast to €630 million-€670 million from a prediction of €550 million-€600 million made in August 2010, on the back of the results.
