(Sinopec, Beijing) reported major incerases in output in the first half of this year. Ethylene production in the first six months rose 41% to 4.202 million m.t.; plastics advanced by close to 30% to 6.089 million m.t., while fibers and synthetic rubbers were up 7.5% and 18.6% to 676,000 m.t. and 485,000 m.t. respectively. Output of urea was 932,000 m.t. compared to 892,000 m.t. in the first half of 2009. Refinery throughput in the first half of this year rose 16.7% to 101.5 million m.t.
